JOHN CANNON: Music

Ride Pacific Coast Highway

(JOHN CANNON)
John Cannon

As I was writing the instrumental I starting singing "Ride Pacific Coast highway".  It reminded me of something and I found it was the Donovan song "Fat Angel".  Rather then run away from it, I made it part of the song and did the same with Eric Burdon.  Both of whom I was friends with back in the day.  Joni Mitchell, I love her music but never met.

Ride Pacific Coast Highway if you have the time

Ride Pacific Coast Highway if you have the time

I’ve got a friend named Donovan

He sings of things so eloquently

He sings about a man on a silver bike

And some friends in San Francisco

Fly Trans-love Airways get you there on time

Fly Trans-love airways get you there on time

Get you there on time

Help me I think I’m fallin’

Ride Pacific Coast Highway if you have the time

Ride Pacific Coast Highway if you have the time

I’ve got a friend by name of Burdon

He sings of things so passionately

He sings about the Hall of the Mountain King

And a Lady who brings wine

Spill wine, take that pearl

Spill wine take that pearl
